Rex-Rotary's DX 4640PD The World's First Double-Sided, CopyPrinter

Rex-Rotary introduces the DX 4640PD, the world’s first double-sided CopyPrinter. This breakthrough technology boosts productivity with ultra high-speed, low cost printing. The DX 4640PD is perfect for busy departments and high-volume environments requiring a cost-effective solution for regular automatic double-sided document output.

The DX 4640PD’s unique ability to print on both sides of an A4 page at 240 prints per minute (ppm) in a single-pass will enable high-volume users to accelerate print production and reduce costs. Switching double-sided print jobs from other high-output devices is easy with the network ready DX 4640PD, whilst uninterrupted high-volume printing is available with the optional 3,000 sheet large capacity system. Rex-Rotary’s advanced High-Quality system and the option to add vivid spot colour ensure outstanding results.

"As the world's first high-speed CopyPrinter with double-sided printing, the DX 4640PD will help boost productivity and efficiency," said Amanda Broadbent, Product Manager, Rex-Rotary.  "By making high-volume double-sided printing a simple continuous process, the DX 4640PD will help relieve pressure in high-volume environments, whilst significantly reducing costs."

Direct desktop printing is supported with the network-ready DX 4640PD, providing seamless integration into your existing document environment. Rex-Rotary’s icon-driven RPCS driver makes printing straightforward allowing Operators to click on their preferred output format, such as double-sided or 2-up, and send to print in one command. For walk-up users the DX 4640PD’s quick start touch screen makes it easy to access all functions at the touch of a button and guides users intuitively through print jobs. The optional Hard Disk Drive will act as a document library, storing frequently used jobs for instant recall, such as expense forms, stationery and price lists.

With its unique High Quality system, the DX 4640PD provides excellent image reproduction at true 400dpi, with finer solid fills, smooth half tones, and sharp flawless text.  This innovative technology combines advanced master, ink and Automatic Pressure Control for consistent and reliable results.  Ultra-fine printing and balanced ink density enhances the image quality on every page, as well as lowering the cost per print.

Together with double-sided A4 printing at an ultra fast 240ppm, the DX 4640PD can also print at high speed on a variety of paper stocks. With single-sided A3 output at 120ppm, users have the flexibility to produce newsletters, menus and tickets in the size they require. Vivid spot colour impact can be added to these documents with the DX 4640PD‘s optional colour drum units.

Rex-Rotary’s latest CopyPrinter has also been designed with the environment in mind.  The DX 4640PD helps save paper and uses less power by printing on both sides of a sheet in a single pass, as well as using natural Soya based ink.
